Wedding Planning Checklist
Just the idea of planning a wedding can be very overwhelming!
I know I was overwhelmed when I started to plan mine. (I never made it to the marriage- if that is any indication of how overwhelming it was!)
I don’t want that to happen to you.
You visualize what you want- a beautiful ceremony, a gorgeous reception including all the perfect details, but how do you create it?? You see the finished picture clearly, but where do you begin? How do you get from point a to point b? Let’s be honest here- what the heck is point a?!

Obviously, the first thing you want to do is share the most exciting news of your life with the world! (Some articles include this as step one on a wedding checklist, but I have a feeling you can figure this part out on your own.)
You know the section in the Sunday paper? The one you curiously eye every week? Yes- that section- the one you’ve been reading for years to see which of your friends is already married. Well, those dandy little engagement announcements don’t just show up there. You need to be the one to place an announcement in the local paper. That is, if you want all your childhood friends to see how happy you are.
Place the announcement soon after you have gotten engaged; along with taking engagement photos. Engagement photos are really popular now. Everyone wants one to put on their myspace.
A wedding planner is a great idea if you are lazy. They will do all of the organizing for you.
If a wedding planner isn’t possible with your budget, what can you do instead? Designate, designate, designate. Get people to help you with the planning. Let them in on your vision. Carry your excitement.
